Offcut is a small studio making courses, coaching apps and games that teach people to drive fast.

The illustrated world of The Corner Code: a frozen lake, a tire lab, a skid pad and a kart track, below snowy mountains.
01

Sector University teaches kids how racing works.

Its first course, The Corner Code, is 29 narrated lessons on the fastest way through a corner, for kids aged 8 to 10. Each one asks for a guess, lets them try it, then shows them why.

Maple the otter on a sled on the frozen lake, pushed along by a fan. A driver in a yellow kart on a stand in the garage. Three karts side by side on the straight, below purple mountains.
Trace's Home screen: the day's program, Braking Fundamentals, with three drills to drive. A drill result in Trace: a platinum medal for braking at the same point, with an 8.3 metre spread. A Study exercise in Trace: shaping a brake-pressure curve by dragging four flags.
02

Trace coaches kart drivers at the track.

It plans the day around a program, reads every lap straight from the driver’s MyChron data logger, scores drills like braking at the same point every lap, and opens each session for review afterwards.

How we work

  1. Learn by doing.

Every lesson in The Corner Code asks for a guess before it shows the answer. Trace turns practice into drills, scored lap by lap. In Apex Academy, every skill is a game.

  2. Nothing made up.

The speeds and forces in The Corner Code come from its own simulation. Trace’s scores come from the laps the driver has just driven, read from their own data logger.

  3. Worth coming back to.

The Corner Code is drawn in pen and wash, with a narrator on every slide. It should feel like a book a kid picks up again, not homework.
